Foods high in protein and fiber are at the top of the list for burning fat. One reason is it takes more energy to burn protein. The more protein you eat, the more calories your body burns.

Everyone knows meat is high in protein but did you know there are plenty of other foods that perform just as well?

Eggs are an excellent protein source and a main part of this Fat Loss 4 Idiots program. As of late studies have shown that dietary cholesterol sources such as eggs have little effect on your blood cholesterol. Some people still remove the yolk just to be on the safe side. Vitamin B12 is the component in eggs that helps your body to break down and burn fat.

Low Fat Dairy… nonfat yogurt and low-fat milk, helps dieters lose more weight than people with low dairy intake. Low fat milk is another fine food to burn fat.

Beans are a fantastic source of protein, iron and fiber. Examples are Lima, Kidney, White and Navy beans. Be sure to cook bean thoroughly and avoid fried.

Oatmeal is another good food that burns fat. Oatmeal helps your blood cholesterol by flushing bad digestive acids out of your system. Avoid oatmeal that comes with sugar. There are plenty of sweeteners on the market these days, Agave syrup is a good one. Look for it in health food stores.

Another big one is organic olive oil. If you haven’t discovered the benefits of olive oil you are in for a treat. One ounce of organic extra virgin olive oil contains about 80% of the daily value for monounsaturated fat.
